Maldives

The Republic of Maldives entered the Commonwealth during 1982 and had their National Olympic Committee recognised in 1985 as the principle organising body for sport in the country.

Situated in the Indian Ocean, some 670kms west-south-west of Sri Lanka, the Maldives made their debut in the 1986 Commonwealth Games in the Scottish capital Edinburgh and have since attended every Games including the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.
