On the 9th May 2007 in London both Abuja and Glasgow formally submitted their 2014 candidature files to the Commonwealth Games Federation.
The CGF 2014 Evaluation Team visited both cities in June following which a report based on its technical evaluation was produced to assist CGAs understand the strengths and weaknesses of the bids as well as the primary differences in the proposals of each candidate city.

The host city for the 2014 Games will be selected on the 9th November 2007 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
