Montserrat is a UK overseas territory and is one of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, lying 43km south-west of Antigua and 64km north-west of Guadeloupe.

Entirely volcanic and mountainous with a rugged coastline the island of Montserrat made it's debut in the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria and have attended every edition of the Games ever since including the Delhi 2010 Games.

The islands capital, Plymouth, was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1997. Government buildings are currently located in Brades.

Montserrat's participation in the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games is organised by their Commonwealth Games Association.
