Provisional suspension stands

In accordance with the CGF Anti-Doping Standard (ADS) for the XIX Commonwealth Games, the CGF Federation Court conducted its Provisional Hearing this afternoon to consider an adverse analytical finding submitted by Nigerian athlete Osayemi Oludamola after the women’s 100 metres final on October 7.

The athlete tested positive for the substance methylhexaneamine, a prohibited stimulant under category S6 of the WADA list of prohibited substances and methods.

Ms. Oludamola was notified of the positive result for the A sample and has asked for the B sample to be tested.

Ms. Oludamola attended the Provisional Hearing of the Federation Court this afternoon, chaired by CGF President, Hon. Michael Fennell  OJ, CD, and consisting of five senior CGF office bearers: Vice Presidents HRH Prince Imran  (Malaysia) and Bruce Robertson CM, CA  (Canada),  Hon. Secretary  Louise Martin  CBE  (Scotland), Honorary Legal Advisor Sharad Rao (Kenya)  and Honorary Treasurer Austin Sealy SCM (Barbados).

The Provisional Hearing ruled that the provisional suspension of the athlete will continue until the result of the B Sample is received. That B Sample result is expected within 48 hours from the time of the request; so further details are not expected until Wednesday morning (Delhi time).

The Federation Court will give its final deliberation on the matter of Ms. Oludamola upon receipt of the B Sample test result.
