A hugely valued member of the Commonwealth Sport family for many years and a Commonwealth Games Federation Board member since 2019, Judy’s dedication and service were an inspiration to all.

Following a successful sporting career in Field Hockey and Tennis, which saw her Captain the Bermuda Hockey team from 1979-1981, she continued to give back to sport through sports administration.  She served in many roles including Secretary General of the Bermuda Olympic Association from 2000-2008 and as President from 2008-2021. She continued serving on the Executive Board of Central American and Caribbean Sports, the IOC’s Olympic Education Commission and as the CGF’s Regional Vice President (Americas) right up until her passing.

Judy’s community was important to her and this was acknowledged when she was presented with the Paul Harris Award for Philanthropic Service within the Bermudian Community. She worked tirelessly for her region and was looking forward to serving the Americas for another term as Regional Vice President.

Above all, Judy was a lovely lady who had time for everyone and was always smiling. She was a great friend to all her colleagues in the sporting world, and the Commonwealth family meant so much to her.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
